SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

• Zilber Roundabout design & construction

• Exterior wayfinding, district map and directory for pedestrian traffic

• Preservation Park illuminated exterior artifact boxes

Located between I-43, Fiserv Forum and the Deer District, The Brewery District has become Milwaukee’s newest downtown neighborhood. Its redevelopment has given rise to a major university center, offices, apartments, hotels, restaurants, taverns, event spaces, retail, and breweries. Designed with the principles of sustainability and historic preservation, this walkable neighborhood with a unique history is a great place to live, work, learn, and play.

Ascend had the incredible opportunity to be a part of the redevelopment of this district. A 36 foot diameter Corten steel monument sign structure occupies the entire roundabout neighboring the Fiserv Forum. It functions as the main gateway, welcoming visitors into the Brewery District. Accompanying Corten steel and concrete signs serve as both wayfinding and map/directories. The district also features Preservation Park, a unique display of illuminated glass and stainless steel artifact boxes that visitors can actually walk over, while viewing their historical content. Truly a unique experience!
